The Best Sexplanations Episodes from Dr. Doe

Sexplanations YouTube Channel

This post is my personal shout-out to Dr. Lindsey Doe, sexologist and the host of the sensational YouTube video channel”Sexplanations.” If you haven’t heard about Sexplanations yet, you’re in for a treat! Dr. Doe takes sex education to the next level with over 400 videos on all things sexual.

Think you’re too old for sex ed? Think again. Even the most sexually experienced adults will find new information from Lindsey’s never-ending, endlessly entertaining channel. The hardest part will be choosing which videos to watch, so let my librarian resource-curating expertise guide you. Here are eleven of my favorite Sexplanations videos:

How to Get the Sex You Want

In this video, Dr. Doe introduces the idea of Want/Will/Won’t lists. Have you made yours? This is a must-do for anyone interested in sex, especially if you are in a relationship. Jack and I had a great time making our own lists and comparing. This is also a great way to start a Sex Bucket List with your partner.

9 Intriguing Sex Facts

A smorgasbord of sex facts that encompass Dr. Doe’s message of “Stay Curious!” This also video sums up her purpose and passion for sex education.

Sexual Negotiations featuring Midori

Dr. Doe is the host of the show, but she frequently has guests to showcase their area of expertise, too. In this episode, the guest is Midori, an “artist, author, educator, and expert in sexuality.” Midori explains how to negotiate a sexual experience with partner. Jack and I use her techniques to clarify our expectations for the sex session ahead. More often than not, this tends to look like “talking dirty” to us and gets us even more aroused. Communication is sexy!

Sexual Discipline

This video is my favorite in a six part series on BDSM.  In the series, Dr. Doe covers it all, from what BDSM stands for (Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, submission, Sadism, and Masochism) to the nitty-gritty how-to-do-it details. Jack and I have been watching this series as we explore BDSM for ourselves. I particularly love how she demonstrates the attitude of a Disciplinarian in this episode. Well, done, Lindsey! You deserve a reward…

Am I Doing Kegels Correctly?

Ladies, don’t we all wonder if we’re doing Kegels the right way? In this episode, Dr. Doe goes to her doctor for a Kegel checkup — a hands-on test and ultrasound to check out her Kegel form.

Anal Sex

If anyone can make anal sex sound completely normal and fun, it’s Dr. Lindsey Doe.  Check out her other videos on all things anal, too, if you’re not quite ready for anal sex, but curious about anal play. Bravo for opening the back door, Sexplanations!

Why Do We Moan and What are the Benefits?

It seems that Dr. Doe has some natural acting abilities — or perhaps just a lot of experience — because she nails the various types of moans that might escape your lips during sex. In fact, she goes a step further and explains WHY we moan and why you SHOULD! This video definitely inspired me to be more vocal, even at the risk of waking the kids.

Cunnilingus

Chock-full of need-to-know information for those of us who are interested in giving or receiving cunnilingus. I especially appreciated the visuals, which included a poster and an oven mitt as well as Barbie dolls. And for those of you looking to return the favor, check out the rest of the videos on the Sexplanations Oral Sex Playlist, too.

How to Have a Clitoral Orgasm

Let’s follow up that Cunnilingus video with more details on how to have a clit orgasm. I love squirting and G-spots, but if you’ve orgasmed from clitoral stimulation, then you know there’s nothing else quite like it. This video shows off Dr. Doe’s scientific side, and I’ll also add that I think Lindsey looks particularly gorgeous here. #girlcrush

LGBTQuestioning

As someone who has recently started questioning my own sexuality and wondering how I can be coming out as a bisexual woman after twenty years with a man…I really love and appreciate the way that Dr. Doe reassures me that questioning is okay. Should we worry about labels? According to Dr. Doe, “Questioning doesn’t mean not knowing the answer…”

How to Show Desire with Celeste and Danielle of the Somatica Institute

Dr. Doe pairs with leading sex and relationship coaches to demonstrate a simple, fun technique that may increase your desire for your partner. Jack and I had a good time with this one. Try it!
